About
InstaShop was a Dubai-based on-demand grocery delivery marketplace founded in June 2015 by Greek entrepreneurs John Tsioris and Ioanna Angelidaki. Operating across five markets — UAE, Lebanon, Egypt, Bahrain, and Greece — the platform connected consumers with local retailers for delivery of groceries, pharmacy items, and household supplies. InstaShop reached approximately 500,000 users and generated around $300 million in GMV before being acquired by Delivery Hero for $360 million in August 2020. In February 2025, Delivery Hero subsidiary Talabat acquired InstaShop for $32 million and absorbed it into its operations.
