Idea Cellular

Idea Cellular was an Indian integrated GSM telecommunications operator and subsidiary of the Aditya Birla Group, offering 2G, 3G, and 4G mobile telephony and wireless broadband services across India. Founded in 1995 as Birla Communications Limited, the company grew to serve over 220 million subscribers as India's third-largest mobile operator before merging with Vodafone India on August 31, 2018 to form Vodafone Idea (Vi). At its peak, Idea generated revenues in excess of $4 billion annually and held spectrum across 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, and 2500 MHz bands nationwide.
