Hyperlume was an Ottawa-based photonics company pioneering microLED-based optical interconnect technology for AI data centers. The company developed low-energy, high-bandwidth chip-to-chip optical communication solutions designed to replace copper interconnects in AI cluster infrastructure, enabling more efficient GPU-to-GPU data transfer. Founded in 2022 as a HAX accelerator graduate, Hyperlume raised a $12.5M seed round before being acquired by Credo Semiconductor in late 2025 to expand Credo's microLED and optical connectivity portfolio for hyperscale AI infrastructure.
