Hygo Energy Transition Ltd., formerly known as Golar Power, was incorporated in Hamilton, Bermuda in May 2016 as a 50-50 joint venture between Golar LNG and Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners. Headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Hygo provided integrated downstream LNG solutions — including import terminals, regasification, and power generation — to underserved markets across Brazil and Latin America. New Fortress Energy completed its roughly $5 billion combined acquisition of Hygo and Golar LNG Partners LP in April 2021.
