About
Hy2Care is a Dutch medtech company and spin-off of the Tech Med Centre at the University of Twente, focused on developing innovative hydrogel-based implants for repairing damaged cartilage. Founded in 2014 by Prof. Marcel Karperien and Dr. Sanne Both, the company's flagship product is the CartRevive® hydrogel implant — a bioresorbable, in-situ gelating hydrogel designed for the arthroscopic treatment of cartilage defects in joints, particularly the knee. The CartRevive® is composed of natural, joint-tissue-mimicking polymers that create a natural scaffold for the patient's own cells to regenerate new cartilage matrix, enabling functional repair without damaging surrounding tissue.
