Hawk

Hawk (originally known as HAWK:AI) is a Munich-based fintech company founded in 2018 by Tobias Schweiger and Wolfgang Berner. The company provides an AI-powered financial crime compliance platform for banks, payment companies, neobanks, fintechs, and cryptocurrency firms. Its solutions span AML transaction monitoring, customer risk rating, customer and payment screening, and fraud prevention across transaction fraud, check fraud, and scams. Hawk's platform uses explainable and auditable machine learning to increase risk detection by 3-5x while reducing false positive alerts by up to 70%, resulting in significant cost savings for financial institutions. In April 2025, Hawk raised a $56M Series C round led by One Peak.
