Gridless Compute

Gridless Compute is a Kenya-based Bitcoin mining company that partners with renewable mini-grid energy generators across rural Africa to monetize stranded energy capacity. By acting as a buyer of last resort for excess power from hydro, geothermal, and biomass mini-grids, Gridless makes those generators financially viable while extending electricity access to underserved communities. The company operates mining sites across multiple countries and has developed Gridless OS, a real-time optimization platform that coordinates Bitcoin mining operations based on current mini-grid parameters using a ruggedized edge server. Gridless is a founding member of the Green Africa Mining Alliance (GAMA), established in late 2022 to share knowledge and grow the renewable Bitcoin mining industry on the continent.
