GraphLab was a Seattle-based machine learning company founded in 2013 by University of Washington professor Carlos Guestrin, commercializing distributed graph computation research from Carnegie Mellon University. The company later rebranded as Dato and then Turi before being acquired by Apple in August 2016 for a reported $200 million. Turi's platform provided machine learning tools for developers and data scientists, enabling rapid development of intelligent applications.
