Gradient Denervation Technologies

Gradient Denervation Technologies is a Paris-based medical device company developing the Gradient™ Denervation System — a first-of-its-kind, minimally invasive, ultrasound-based catheter platform for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension. The technology ablates nerves around the pulmonary artery using therapeutic ultrasound energy in a percutaneous procedure, targeting the large unmet clinical need in Group 2 pulmonary hypertension (PH due to left heart disease), for which no approved drug or device therapies currently exist. Up to two-thirds of heart failure patients worldwide have pulmonary hypertension. The company builds upon intellectual property developed at Stanford University, was founded around 2020, and has raised approximately $19M across a €3.5M seed round (Sofinnova Partners, 2020) and a €14M Series A (Asabys Partners, 2023). In 2025, the FDA granted Breakthrough Device Designation for the Gradient Denervation System.
