Glacier builds next-generation AI-powered robots for the recycling industry, combining computer vision and robotics to automate the sorting of recyclables at material recovery facilities (MRFs). The company's systems are trained on billions of real recycling images and recover plastics, film, paper, cardboard, and metals at up to 45 picks per minute. Glacier also provides real-time brand intelligence dashboards giving consumer brands item-level visibility into recycling rates for their packaging. Founded in 2019 by Rebecca Hu-Thrams and Areeb Malik, Glacier is backed by Amazon's Climate Pledge Fund and has deployed robots at facilities including Recology in Seattle and Penn Waste in Pennsylvania.
