The restaurant chain specializes in Southern Brazilian cuisine, serving churrasco fire-roasted meats carved tableside by Brazilian-trained Gaucho Chefs, alongside a Market Table and Feijoada Bar with traditional Brazilian side dishes. First expanded to the United States in 1997 with an Addison, Texas location, Fogo de Chão now operates over 70 locations across the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Honduras, Philippines, Bolivia, Chile, and Ecuador.
