FiftyThree was a New York-based technology company best known for Paper, Apple's 2012 iPad App of the Year, a digital sketchbook app for creative professionals and teams. The company also made Pencil, a Bluetooth stylus, and Paste, a collaborative presentation tool for enterprise clients. Founded in 2011 by former Microsoft employees, FiftyThree raised $45M total across a $15M Series A (Andreessen Horowitz, 2013) and a $30M Series B (NEA, 2015). The company was acquired by WeTransfer in August 2018, and its products now belong to Bending Spoons following WeTransfer's 2024 acquisition.
