Fenix International

Fenix International is a Silicon Valley-founded renewable energy company, established in 2009, that designs and distributes affordable solar home systems for off-grid communities in sub-Saharan Africa. Its flagship product, ReadyPay Power, is an expandable lease-to-own solar home system financed through mobile money payments starting at $0.15 per day. Fenix uses real-time transaction data to build next-generation credit scores that enable customers to finance power upgrades and other life-changing loans. In 2018, Fenix was acquired by ENGIE and subsequently merged with ENGIE Mobisol and ENGIE PowerCorner to become ENGIE Energy Access, operating primarily in Uganda and Zambia with over 200,000 systems sold.
