About

Fathom Optics develops software-based embellishment technology for the print industry, enabling brands, graphic designers, and press operators to add dynamic motion, depth, and chromatic effects to product labels, packaging, shrink sleeves, and security documents. Fathom's Light Field technology creates these effects using only standard inks and existing printing equipment — no lenses, foils, or specialty substrates required. Designers upload files into Fathom Designer, a free web-based tool that assigns shimmer, motion, and depth effects to spot colors. Fathom then generates production-ready plate files for two additional passes on the same press. The technology delivers superior recyclability over foil or lenticular alternatives while enabling compelling brand experiences. In the security printing segment, Fathom's SUSI Optics JAZZ technology is used in banknotes and secure documents through a strategic partnership with Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions. Fathom also co-developed Nota-Live, a real-time 3D simulation tool for banknote designers and central banks, which received the Best New Process or Technology award at HSP EMEA. Customers include major label converters such as Multi-Color Corporation (MCC Label).
