About
Eucalyptus Systems developed open source software for building AWS-compatible private and hybrid cloud computing environments. Its platform supported industry-standard AWS APIs including EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, and IAM, enabling IT organizations to run on-premises clouds with agility and elasticity. Founded in 2009 as a UC Santa Barbara research spinout, Eucalyptus grew a global ecosystem of enterprise customers before being acquired by Hewlett-Packard in September 2014.
