Baichuan Intelligence (百川智能) is an artificial intelligence company founded in April 2023 by Wang Xiaochuan, former CEO of Sogou. Based in Beijing, China, the company develops general-purpose and healthcare-specialized large language models. Its models include the open-source Baichuan and Baichuan2 series as well as the Baichuan-M series focused on medical applications. As of 2024, the company has been dubbed one of China's 'AI Tiger' companies. Investors include Tencent, Alibaba Group, Shunwei Capital, and Xiaomi. In March 2025 the company restructured to focus exclusively on healthcare AI.
