epoXtal LLC is a Philadelphia-based deep-tech spinout from Drexel University focused on CMOS-compatible ferroelectric and multiferroic thin films for tunable microwave and RF applications. Founded by Drexel Professor Jonathan Spanier, the company develops atomic layer deposition (ALD)-grown hafnia and ferrite-based oxide thin films that enable electronically tunable microwave filters, antennas, and phase shifters compatible with standard semiconductor manufacturing processes. The technology addresses miniaturization and tunability demands in defense communications and wireless systems. epoXtal has received multiple SBIR awards from the Department of Defense and National Science Foundation.
