Epitome Therapeutics

Epitome Therapeutics is a Vienna-based biotechnology company developing a proprietary epigenome editing platform called CADENCE, designed to achieve precise, durable activation of gene expression without altering DNA sequence. Founded in 2025 as a spin-off from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Rome by co-founders Dr. Guido Gualdoni (CEO) and Dr. Jamie Hackett (CSO), the company focuses on diseases requiring restoration or fine-tuning of gene activity. Epitome raised €4M in total pre-seed financing co-led by XISTA Science Ventures and Caesar Ventures to advance its first drug candidate selection.
