Enlighted (Siemens)

Enlighted is a proptech company that pioneered IoT solutions for smart commercial buildings, offering a platform combining cognitive environmental sensors, lighting controls, and workplace experience applications. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Santa Clara, California, Enlighted was acquired by Siemens in 2018 and operated as part of Building Robotics, Inc., a Siemens company. Its core technology deploys cloud-connected sensors across office environments to capture real-time occupancy, temperature, light, and energy data, enabling building operators to optimize energy efficiency, space utilization, occupant comfort, and sustainability goals. The platform integrates with building management systems including BACnet/IP and Siemens Desigo. In April 2025, Siemens announced the wind-down of Enlighted's operations, with the Enlighted Connect product continuing under Siemens Smart Infrastructure's Buildings business. At its peak, Enlighted employed 201-500 people across offices in Santa Clara and Chennai.
