ElFys, Inc. is a Finnish semiconductor company that designs, develops, and manufactures high-performance customized photodetectors based on proprietary black silicon induced junction technology. Founded in fall 2017 as a spin-off from Aalto University in Espoo, ElFys commercializes a breakthrough photodiode technology that achieves near-ideal photosensitivity — capturing over 96% external quantum efficiency across a broad spectral range from UV to NIR (200–950 nm), far exceeding conventional silicon photodetectors. The company's products include single photodiodes, 4-quadrant detectors (QPD), and surface-mount devices (SM) for applications in space and defense sensing, wearable health monitoring, analytical instruments, and industrial laser systems.
