The Eastern Province Cement Company (EPCCO) was established by Royal Decree No. M/11 in 1982, with paid-up capital of SR 860 million across 86,000,000 shares held by citizens and official entities. The company produces Ordinary Portland Cement, Sulphate Resisting Cement, and Finishing Cement to ASTM, BS, EN, and Saudi SASO standards, and commenced commercial production in 1985 to serve the local and Gulf cement market.
