东方算芯 (Dongfang Suanxin)

Dongfang Suanxin (东方算芯), also known as DFSX, is a Shanghai-based AI chip startup founded in 2024 and headquartered in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. The company specializes in integrated circuit design and is pioneering software-defined chips using 3D stacking near-memory computing architecture to bypass US export controls. Led by Wei Shaojun, a semiconductor veteran and professor at Tsinghua University and vice-president of the China Semiconductor Industry Association, DFSX made its public debut in July 2026 by launching the DF1000, China's first near-memory computing 3D AI chip using a fully domestic supply chain. The company has already grown to over 500 employees across R&D sites in seven major Chinese cities, with a Series B funding round anticipated for Q4 2026.
