CULedger was a Denver-based credit union service organization (CUSO) founded in 2017 as a research-to-action project by CUNA's National Credit Union Roundtable, focused on harnessing blockchain and distributed ledger technology to combat fraud and improve member authentication. Its flagship product, MemberPass, provided credit unions with a decentralized digital identity credential built on Hyperledger Indy, enabling secure, contactless member authentication across call centers, branches, and digital channels — reducing authentication time from over 90 seconds to under 15 seconds.
