Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE)

CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization founded in 2010 by Sean Penn and Ann Lee following the devastating Haiti earthquake, originally operating as J/P HRO before rebranding in 2019. The organization empowers underserved communities in and beyond crisis through programs spanning Emergency Response & Preparedness, Addressing Climate Change, and Health Access, with domestic US operations in California, North Carolina, and Georgia, and international presence in Haiti, Ukraine, and Sudan. CORE's community-powered model prioritizes equity for marginalized and vulnerable populations, filling critical gaps in disaster relief, public health emergencies, and long-term recovery support.
