Celaid Therapeutics

Celaid Therapeutics is a Japan-based biotechnology company, born out of the University of Tokyo and University of Tsukuba, that has developed a proprietary platform technology for the efficient ex vivo expansion of human hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). The company's technology enables mass propagation of functional HSCs without animal-derived components, producing high-quality cells at low cost for use in next-generation transplantation, gene therapy, and treatments for leukemia, other hematologic cancers, and genetic disorders. Celaid raised a ¥1.055 billion (USD $7.2 million) Series B first close in October 2025 to advance its lead program CLD-001 through clinical development.
