Caruna

Caruna is Finland's largest electricity network company, responsible for the reliable distribution of electricity to approximately 744,000 customers across South, Southwest and West Finland, Joensuu, and Koillismaa — representing 20% of Finnish electricity distribution. The company operates through two subsidiaries: Caruna Oy (rural areas) and Caruna Espoo Oy (urban areas), together managing over 89,300 kilometres of electricity network. Caruna employs approximately 230 people and indirectly supports several hundred more through project work. The company is regulated by the Finnish Energy Authority and is owned by Finnish pension insurer Elo (7.5%) alongside international investors KKR (40%), Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (40%), and AMF (12.5%). Caruna's mission is to safeguard high-quality, cost-efficient, and sustainable electricity distribution for its customers under all conditions, supporting Finland's transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
