CargoKite is a Munich-based deep-tech startup pioneering sustainable maritime transport using kite-powered cargo vessels. Founded in 2022 out of research at the Technical University of Munich, the company is developing a novel ship class that uses autonomous kite systems as the primary propulsion source. CargoKite's first commercial vessel targets sub-500 TEU intra-European routes and has completed prototype trials and hydrodynamic tank testing.
