Capwell Services engineers cost-effective methane capture units for oil and gas operators, targeting low and intermittent flow vent sources such as tank batteries, compressor rod packings, and pneumatic control valves that traditional vapor recovery units can't economically address. Founded in 2021 by University of Pennsylvania engineering graduates out of a senior design project, the company designs and manufactures its systems in the United States and returns captured gas to operators so they can monetize previously vented product. Capwell's technology abates methane at a negative cost per ton of CO2e compared to alternatives like pneumatic valve replacements and carbon capture.
