Bytes on Wheels
Byton (originally Future Mobility) was founded in 2016 by former BMW and Apple executives, headquartered in Nanjing, China. The company developed the M-Byte, a luxury smart electric SUV featuring a large dashboard display and integrated digital services. Byton suspended operations in 2021 amid financial difficulties and filed for bankruptcy, with its German subsidiary also entering insolvency. The company had raised significant funding from Tencent, Foxconn, and others.
