BrightSource Energy is an Oakland, California-based corporation that designs, builds, finances, and operates utility-scale solar thermal power plants using concentrated solar power (CSP) technology. The company's flagship project, the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility (377 MW), opened in 2014 and remains one of the largest CSP plants in the world. BrightSource shifted focus to international markets after 2014, with projects in Israel, China, and the UAE. The company has been largely inactive in the US market since ~2017.
