Bridger Photonics is a Bozeman, Montana-based aerial methane detection company that provides Gas Mapping LiDAR (GML) technology for emissions monitoring across the oil and gas value chain. The company developed a proprietary airborne LiDAR platform that mounts laser sensors on small aircraft to detect, locate, and accurately quantify methane leaks across oil and gas production, midstream pipeline, distribution, LNG, and offshore infrastructure. Bridger's Gas Mapping LiDAR was commercially launched in 2019 and has since mapped over 750,000 emission events, earning the trust of 9 of the top 10 U.S. natural gas producers. Major clients include ExxonMobil, Chevron, Repsol, Cheniere, Phillips 66, Devon Energy, Southern California Gas Company, and Cenovus Energy. In September 2022, Bridger raised $55 million from a Montana-based investor syndicate including Madison Valley Partners, Carica Sustainable Investments, and Next Frontier Capital.
