Bota Bio (Bota Biosciences, 恩和科技) is an industrial synthetic biotechnology company founded in 2019 and headquartered in Hangzhou, China with a US office in Lafayette, California. The company operates a proprietary Biofoundry platform combining computer algorithms and state-of-the-art biotechnologies to develop sustainable bio-manufacturing solutions. Products include bio-preservatives, nutritional supplements, performance proteins, and personal care ingredients under brands HeliaGenesis and YuccaElements. Bota Bio raised $100 million in Series B financing in 2021, with total funding of $145 million. BASF Venture Capital is among its investors. The company has a 130,000 m² fermentation production plant with over 600 tons annual capacity.
