Big Sur AI is an AI-driven e-commerce platform founded in 2023 in Mountain View, California by Vinod Kumar Ramachandran (CEO, former Head of Commerce AI at Google) and Arnaud Weber (CTO, former Apple and Twitter engineer). The company developed an AI Sales Agent that replicates the personalized, knowledgeable assistance a shopper receives in a physical retail store — providing tailored product recommendations, answering detailed questions, and assisting with complex shopping decisions in real time on e-commerce websites. The platform integrates with major e-commerce systems including Shopify, Magento, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and is available on the Google Cloud Marketplace. Big Sur AI raised a $6.9M seed round in March 2024 and partnered with brands such as Rad Power Bikes and Wyze. The company was subsequently acquired by Google in early 2026.
