Bettery

Bettery is an Italian innovative startup and spin-off of the Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna, developing the NESSOX (NEw Semi-Solid flow lithium OXygen battery), a patented green liquid battery technology with 500 Wh/kg specific energy — approximately 200% higher than the best commercial lithium-ion batteries. The NESSOX battery combines the lightness of lithium-air batteries with the modularity of redox-flow batteries, offering higher energy density, thermal stability, absence of critical heavy metals, and recharge costs under $150/kWh. Bettery's technology targets applications in residential energy storage, off-grid renewable energy systems, and large-scale maritime power, with its patent extended in both Europe and the USA.
