Bboxx is a pan-African consumer goods and clean energy company headquartered in Kigali, Rwanda, founded in 2010 by Mansoor Hamayun, Chris Baker-Brian, and Laurent Van Houcke after graduating from Imperial College London. The company connects consumers across Africa with clean energy, clean cooking, smartphones, e-mobility, and inclusive financial products through an extensive last-mile distribution network powered by its Pulse operating system. Pulse is a fully integrated digital platform developed by Asopo Technologies (part of the Abci-Nexus group) that combines mobile money, asset tracking, credit management, and AI-driven analytics to serve households, businesses, and communities on pay-as-you-go models. Bboxx currently operates in 7 African markets — including Kenya, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, DRC, and Côte d'Ivoire — positively impacting over 6 million people and directly contributing to 12 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. The company has replaced over 800,000 kerosene lamps, prevented more than 1 million tonnes of CO₂e emissions, and generated over $180 million in additional customer income. Bboxx employs more than 3,000 staff across Africa, Europe, and Asia.
