Atlantic Quantum

Atlantic Quantum was an MIT-founded quantum computing hardware startup that developed highly integrated, fault-tolerant quantum computers based on a fluxonium superconducting qubit architecture — achieving record-low error rates and the highest single-qubit fidelity of 99.998% for superconducting qubits. Spun out of MIT's Engineering Quantum Systems Group in 2022 and headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the company built modular chip stacks designed to enable error-corrected quantum computers to scale in the same way integrated circuits enabled Moore's Law. In October 2025, Atlantic Quantum joined Google Quantum AI to accelerate progress toward large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computing.
