Atlan

Atlan is the active metadata platform that serves as a collaboration hub for the modern data stack — the GitHub for data teams or Figma for designers. Founded in 2019 in Singapore, Atlan was born out of the founders' experience running SocialCops, a data company that tackled global challenges for the UN, Gates Foundation, and Government of India. After experiencing firsthand how broken data team workflows were, they built Atlan to create a shared understanding of data, business logic, and institutional knowledge. The platform stitches together metadata from across the data stack — Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, Looker, and more — delivering data discovery, automated cataloging, column-level lineage, data governance, and AI-powered documentation. Recognized as a Forrester Wave Leader three times and a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader, Atlan serves customers including Nasdaq, Mastercard, Autodesk, General Motors, and Dropbox.
