Associated Materials LLC is one of North America's largest manufacturers and distributors of exterior building products, with a history dating to 1947 when founder Jerome J. Kaufman invented America's first residential baked enamel aluminum siding. Operating under the Alside and Gentek Building Products brands, the company produces vinyl siding, replacement windows, and decking products sold exclusively through professional contractor distribution channels. Headquartered in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Associated Materials serves residential remodeling and new construction markets across the United States and Canada with manufacturing plants in Ohio, Texas, North Carolina, Washington, and Ontario. In 2022 the company was acquired by Strategic Value Partners LLC, a global investment firm. In 2025, Associated Materials reorganized into three distinct operating businesses: Associated Materials Innovations (manufacturer), Alside (distributor of exterior building products), and Gentek Building Products.
