Associated Content

Associated Content was an online publishing platform founded in January 2005 by Luke Beatty in Denver, Colorado, enabling anyone to publish articles, videos, audio, and slideshows and earn money through up-front payments and performance-based revenue sharing. The platform grew to over 380,000 freelance contributors and more than 16 million unique monthly visitors before Yahoo acquired it for $100 million in May 2010. After the acquisition, Yahoo rebranded it as Yahoo Voices and later the Yahoo Contributor Network, expanding the platform globally, before ultimately shutting it down on July 31, 2014. Associated Content raised $6 million in a Series C round in April 2009 from SoftBank Capital and Canaan Partners prior to its acquisition.
