Argo AI was an autonomous driving technology company headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, co-founded in 2016 by roboticists Bryan Salesky and Peter Rander, veterans of Google and Uber's self-driving programs. Backed by Ford and Volkswagen with over $3.6 billion raised, Argo developed the full self-driving stack including software, hardware, sensors, and HD maps. The company was disbanded in October 2022 after Ford and VW withdrew investment.
