airCloset, Inc. is the operator of Japan's first and largest proposal-based fashion rental subscription service for women. Founded in July 2014 and headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, airCloset connects subscribers with professional stylists who curate and deliver personalized outfit coordinates — typically three garments per month — based on each member's body shape, style preferences, and detailed diagnostic inputs. Members pay a monthly subscription fee and can keep items as long as they like before returning them (no return deadline), with the option to purchase items they love at a discounted price. The company promotes a circular fashion model, reporting a 27% reduction in clothing waste and 19% reduction in CO2 compared to traditional retail. airCloset has raised funding through multiple rounds, including a Series B of approximately $8.4 million, backed by investors including Samurai Incubate.
