About
Africa Water Infrastructure Development (AWID) is a private investment platform co-established by British International Investment (BII) and Metito Utilities to develop and finance climate-smart water infrastructure projects across Africa. It is the first platform of its kind designed to bridge the $45–54 billion annual water investment gap on the continent by catalyzing private investment in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sectors through Public-Private Partnership models. AWID leverages Metito's operational track record in mega-scale water projects alongside BII's patient capital to deliver high-impact developments.
