Acumen H2R Expansion Fund

The Acumen Hardest-to-Reach (H2R) Expansion Fund is an impact investing vehicle operated by Acumen, a nonprofit impact investor headquartered in New York. The fund provides impact-linked debt, patient capital, and receivables-backed financing to established off-grid solar companies operating across 16 sub-Saharan African countries with low electrification rates. In September 2025, Acumen announced it had secured over $245 million for the H2R initiative, with backing from the IFC, British International Investment, Soros Economic Development Fund, and other DFIs, targeting clean energy access for 70 million low-income customers.
