Actimis Pharmaceuticals

Actimis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. was a privately held biopharmaceutical company founded in 2004 and based in San Diego, California, focused exclusively on the development and commercialization of small molecule therapeutics for respiratory and inflammatory disorders, with a primary focus on asthma. In June 2008, Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH announced an agreement to acquire Actimis in a deal valued at up to $515 million contingent on clinical milestones for Actimis's lead asthma program. Following the structured buyout of its lead program, Actimis spun out Axikin Pharmaceuticals in 2008 to continue development of its remaining pipeline assets for respiratory and inflammatory diseases. The company is now effectively defunct as a standalone entity.
