ACT-ion Battery Technologies is pioneering a transformative approach to battery material manufacturing, specializing in advanced lithium battery cathode active materials (CAMs). Founded in Dallas, Texas, the company has developed a high-throughput continuous manufacturing process that produces coated single crystal CAMs for lithium batteries with lower waste and emissions than traditional methods. ACT-ion's mission is to reduce US reliance on international suppliers for domestic battery supply chain components, making the country competitive in the global cathode active material market. The company was incubated in Hunt Energy and has received DOE grant support and backing from investors including BASF Venture Capital and KYOBO Life. ACT-ion raised $11.5M in a Pre-Series A round through 2025, with a pilot plant established in Dallas, TX.
