Abydos for Renewable Energy Company SAE is a large-scale solar power project company developing a 1,000 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant integrated with a 600 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Benban, Aswan Governorate, Egypt. The project is led and developed by AMEA Power, which will build, own, and operate the facility under Power Purchase Agreements with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC). When complete, it will be one of the largest solar PV plants in Africa.
