5QXT develops proprietary "Quantum Extraction" (QX) processes to recover commercially valuable metals from industrial slags and other waste streams such as battery black mass. The approach uses controlled corrosion and mass-transfer optimization to increase water solubility of target materials and produce multi-element solutions, reducing sulfuric acid, water, energy, and consumables compared with conventional hydrometallurgy while avoiding high pressure and high temperature. Founded in Chile, the company positions its technology as plug-and-play with existing processing plants and aims to deploy pilot and demo plants near large industrial stockpiles. 5QXT is a member of the SOSV HAX 2025 hard-tech accelerator cohort and has since produced commercial-grade vanadium and other metals from steel slag using its proprietary process.
