Z Ventures
Zhizhuo Capital (Z Ventures, 知卓资本) is a Shanghai-based investment-innovation-incubation platform founded in 2014 by Dr. Chuan Tao (陶闯), the internet entrepreneur behind GeoTango — a 3D internet mapping company acquired by Microsoft in 2005, making him the first Chinese founder in Microsoft's M&A history — and PPTV, one of only three Chinese companies SoftBank's Masayoshi Son invested in directly. The firm runs a '3i model' combining Investment, Innovation, and Incubation, targeting high-growth 'high-tech + internet' companies from early stage through pre-IPO, plus M&A and cross-border consolidation. It operates from Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou, and Wuhan, with a presence in Silicon Valley and Seattle, and has invested in dozens of domestic and international companies spanning autonomous driving/HD mapping, connected vehicles, AI and big data, enterprise services, and commercial aerospace.
