A San Francisco venture firm founded in 1974 as Walden Group by Art Berliner and George Sarlo, one of the earliest San Francisco venture capital firms, now led by managing directors Larry Marcus, Matt Miller and Art Berliner and making 'Sprout Stage' first-institutional investments in digital media, cloud services and consumer internet (Pandora, SoundHound). It is a separate firm from Walden International, which was created in 1987 as the Asian branch of Walden Group by Lip-Bu Tan and Peter Liu and had been spun out as independent by 2000.
