Hank Paulson
Henry M. (Hank) Paulson Jr. is the former Chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs (1999-2006) and the 74th U.S. Secretary of the Treasury (2006-2009), who led the U.S. government's response to the 2008 financial crisis. The paulsoninstitute.org site he links to is the Paulson Institute, a nonprofit "think and do" tank he founded in 2011 focused on U.S.-China relations, conservation, and green finance — it is not a venture capital fund or investment vehicle. Paulson's most notable investment-related role is Executive Chairman of TPG Rise Climate, the climate-investing platform of private equity firm TPG, which he helped launch in 2021. Public investor databases (PitchBook) show only minimal direct angel-investing activity by Paulson personally, distinct from these institutional roles.
